TigerTails Gaming Streams: Ratchet and Clank – Rift Apart

It’s not often that a celebration of gaming falls on the same day as a TigerTails Gaming stream day, but today the timing Gods have graced us, as today is the 20th anniversary of Ratchet and Clank’s release back on the PlayStation 2. So this week we shall celebrate that achievement with a bit of a play through of the latest installment in the Ratchet and Clank collection – Rift Apart on the PlayStation 5. Totally not an excuse to get some more use out of the PS5, honest, Xavier will be starting a new game on his profile as TK is already a little way into a game and doesn’t want to have to restart. So how far will Xavier get? Tune in and find out.

TigerTails Gaming Streams: Ratchet and Clank

With the release of Rift Apart in the near future for those lucky enough to have beaten the scalpers at getting a PS5, Xavier takes this Friday to see where it all began, with the original Ratchet and Clank game, lovingly high-rezzed on the PS3 (thank you PlayStation Plus). While TK has only spent time with the PS4 remake/reboot thing, Xavier has enjoyed the original in the past so will be taking a trip back in time. How far will he get? Watch this space and find out.

Ratchet and Clank Are Getting A Movie?

In news of “things we did not see coming”, today a teaser trailer was released for a movie starring Ratchet and Clank, scheduled to be released in 2015. You can watch the trailer below, because we’re such nice people here.

James Stevenson, the Community Lead from Insomniac Games, posted on the Playstation US Blog: “We’ve been looking for the right partner to help us bring a Ratchet & Clank movie to life, and we’re thrilled to announce that Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment are currently in production on Ratchet & Clank’s first cinematic adventure. Insomniac is honored to play a hands-on role with the film’s production, screenplay, character development, and animation consulting. Furthermore, our own Ratchet & Clank writer, T.J. Fixman, who has written all of the recent Ratchet & Clank games, is writing the script for the film as well.” With Insomniac also providing art assets to the animators, and with James A. Taylor, David Kaye, and Jim Ward reprising their roles of Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark respectively, fans of the series can feel a little less worried that a feature film of the popular franchise will feel like a cheap rip-off, and instead look forward to the lush visuals of the games being transferred to the big screen in stereoscopic 3D.

The Ratchet and Clank fans here at TigerTails Gaming can’t wait. Now sit back, and enjoy the teaser trailer…
